first, about the site

I dunno, people throughout my life have called me creative, or artistic. Creative.com was taken (I think they make PC speakers or something) and so I went with the Limp Bizkit spelling for artistic.

I used to have a site called byteus.com, where I hosted my comic strips but decided that I needed something more about me. :\

now about me: buck paiva

• My real name is not Buck. My biological father gave me the nickname Buckaroo. He got it from a radio personality that used to say, "Hello, Buckaroos". The name stuck. I went from Buckaroo to Bucky to just plain Buck.
• My last name rhymes with saliva.
• Some people know me as George Paiva, or Bucky Paiva.
• I grew up in the San Francisco East Bay and have lived in Reno, Nevada since '94.
• I have been married for ten years as of October '06.
• My two sons are fifteen and eleven and that makes me feel old sometimes. But at times they also make me feel like a kid.
• I have been writing code for over twenty years.
• I believe coding is as much an art form as design, and that only the best developers understand this.
• I am one quarter Cherokee.
• "I am Jack's wasted youth."
• I am a Tae Kwon Do student.
• I have been a snowboarder since '96, and my sons have just recently come over to the dark side (from skiing).
• I am an aspiring writer, but I am also a huge procrastinator.
• I have some of the strangest story ideas--I'll be the first to admit that--and my writing style is unconventional. But I don't care.
• My parents have retired to Mexico, near Cancun. I hope to be able to do that some day.
